May 23 – Joe Epstein Presents

Day’s End, (c) Joe Epstein

Join us this Tuesday, May 23, at 7 p.m., as photographer/photojournalist Joe Epstein presents images of NYC and Hoboken illustrating the variety of the types of images that are to be found on a daily basis. Epstein believes that capturing the image is only part of the process; he painstakingly edits each image, bringing to print what he viewed through the lens. Over the years, he has trained his eyes to see the world in a unique way: his images go beyond the basics, displaying a vision blended of light, motion, and viewpoint.

With an interest in photography that dates back to high school, Epstein has worked in print journalism for more than 25 years, the last 18 for the Newark (NJ) Star-Ledger. His work has also been published in magazines such as Sports Illustrated, OT Week, OT Practice, and on the cover of Exceptional Parent, and in books published by Prentice Hall and McGraw-Hill.

Epstein has worked with Special Olympics New Jersey as a photographer and coach and has won awards from the New York Press Photographers Association, the New Jersey Press Association, New England Press Association and the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association. He was part of the staff at The Star Ledger which won the Pulitzer Prize in 2005. He exhibits at local galleries and fine art shows throughout the New York metropolitan area, and he was recently commissioned to provide work for a luxury residential development in New Jersey.   www.joeepsteinphotography.com
