Princeton Art Museum Exhibit & Symposium Activities

Princeton University and the Princeton University Art Museum are celebrating the work and influence of photographer, teacher, and PPA’s founder Clarence H. White with an exhibit of his work (October 7, 2017-January 7, 2018), a series of talks (October  14, 20, November 9), and a symposium (October 20-21). Princeton is home to the Clarence H. White archive.

The exhibit is entitled “Clarence H. White, His World: The Art and Craft of Photography 1895-1925.” The talks comprise a lecture and two gallery talks. The symposium is entitled “Rethinking ‘Pictorialism’: American Art and Photography 1895-1925”. Registration is required but there is no fee.
